Hey everyone! Welcome to the first Friday Five post of my Summer Vacation! I was kind of tired from final exams last week to post, but I thought that this week would be a good time because it is now officially my summer vacation! Expect more reviews and things, so stay tuned to your feed (or however else you get to my blog).
My Bloody Valentine - Sue is Fine Amsterdam '89. This is an awesome concert and I might upload it all later in a next Five installment, but fair warning, if you don't want to blow your eardrums or speakers out, TURN DOWN THE VOLUME!!! Thanks :)
PJ Harvey & John Parish - April aris Bataclan '09. Super nice quality on this on this one.
Here is a PJ Harvey interview for you to watch too.
Warpaint Beauty Bar interview '10. This is the best interview ever. If you have to watch one video this week, watch this one. (Wow they are BAKED) 4:43 is epic
Extra: Beetles @ Fort Worth Modern Art Museum '10. It took me a while, to figure this out, but this is only half the song. (Heck, did they play half of it?) Anyway, its pretty good.
Classic Sleater - Kinney! Ok, I used my time off to dig deep into my favorites list on YouTube, and I found these gems for you all. Enjoy the first 4 videos in SK's Coachella 2006 set.
What's Mine Is Yours @ Coachella '06. Wait for the epic solo @ 2:20. Man, it keeps going through the rest of the song too! Epic!
Looks like the embed link isn't working, so click the link >>>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFM--FCa7gE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
Rollercoaster @ Coachella '06. Carries intro thing was great, why did they just start the song? Anyway, if you really listen at :55 - 1:44 Were they trying to tune this song down? (I doubt it...) but the rest of the song is good.
Sympathy @ Coachella '06. This is the next song. Why did they have to play a sad song after a good one? Oh well (I'm not dissing their choice though). Anyway, looks like they fixed the drum set right in time... (This might be me, but they all look equally pissed while playing this song...)
The blog of an avid music collector and everything else between the headphones.

Friday Five: Making you less full.
Happy Friday! And to my American Friends, Happy Black Friday/day after thanksgiving. I got some sweet videos for you guys this week, so hopefully you have a little extra room on your plate for these tasty Videos! I found a link that I'm thankful for, but I'll tell you about that later.
Vivian Girls - All The time. I didn't really listen to this song, but now I listen to it all the time. Good start to their album. Listen to that wall-o-feedback!
Youth Brigade - Did You Wanna Die. Whenever I hear this song, I want to go skate, too bad it's super cold outside. My wheels might freeze if I do.
PJ Harvey - Electric Light (with messed up drum machene). PJ wanted to play a song with the drum machene, but it didn't want to coroprate. If you wanted to see some of PJ's personality, this is the video. My favorite part is 1:13-2:17. Wait till the end though!
Extra! 50 Foot Queenie at Big Day out 2003. I don't know why I like this so much. It might be because she switched up her guitar playing or vocals. Whatever it is I like it.
Big Black - Kerosene. I've been listening to this song religiously for the past 3 days. I still can't find this album and it's really bugging me. Heads up, turn your speakers down if you don't want them to blow them up.
My Bloody Valentine - Sueisfine Live London '89. The drums make this song. Watch Colm Drum, its worth it.
Classic Sleater Kinney.
It's Enough. Strange angle for a video, but you get to see all of the cool action without all the people in the way.
Something to be Thankful for.
Ok, so I'm thankful I found the Bootleg of the First Wild Flag Show. If you watch it, click the link and be windblown. If you want to wait until the 7" comes out, then wait. But be prepared to be mind blown. I doubted it before, but the keyboards work really well with the rest of the band.
(No really, someone tell me when their 7" comes out. I will push someone out the way to buy it.)

Friday Five on a Saturday!
No, I didn't want to have a Friday Five on a Saturday, but I had to get some sleep so I could feel better today. I had this prepared on Friday, but I just didn't have time to post it. With that, happy listening!
My Bloody Valentine - You made me realize (From some TV show). Debbie and Colm look like they should be playing in a Punk band. It works anyway.
Zounds - Subvert
Le Tigre - Stay Monkey. This is actually a Julie Ruin Song. What does "Stay Monkey" mean? Despite this, I love this song.
PJ Harvey - The Mountain. Cross your fingers and hope for a new PJ Harvey album! Check out my post.
The Raincoats - The Void. Classic Song, classic album, classic band. Another one of the many albums I must buy...
Extra! Sonic Youth Titanium Expose. I was saving this for another Friday, but I just couldn't wait! I also didn't know that this song had a video! You learn something new every day.
Classic Sleater-Kinney! Yoyo a Go Go 1997. Janet makes old SK sound good! How awesome!

Fun Friday Five!
B52s Rock lobster. Awesomeness. Do I have to say anything else about this song?
My Bloody Valentine - Bilinda Song. This is a leaked track from the was to be released box set. Still no box set, but me and lots of other people sure want one!
Shonen Knife - Tomato Head - I want one of those tomato heads from the video. 1+ for the synchronized head banging.
Sleater-Kinney - Ironclad - Cambridge MA. Hah, this was 10 years ago. (wow that's a long time ago)
The Muffs - Beat Your Heart Out
Extra! Drive Like Jehu - O Pencil Sharp. I love this song, try to make it thorugh the whole 9:43 secconds.

My 5 musical fantasies that probably won't happen, but might just happen anyway.
We all have those fantasies, the ones where you think for a while and say "Oh that would be so totally awesome if this band did this thing!". That came into my head today, so I then thought about the 5 musical things that I personally know that won't happen. And if they did happen, you could say that I called it. This list isn't ranked, so don't be all like "She ranked this band over this one? How absurd!". I'm just writing what comes to mind.
1. A "real" PJ Harvey B-sides album.
If you read my "Friday Five" from last week, you know how much I want a PJ Harvey B-sides album. Well, I think that I can speak for a lot of PJ fans when I say this; we are tired of going to You tube to find your B-sides. Could you just do us a favor and make, one 15 track B-sides album so we all can hear your awesome B-sides. One more thing, please don't release this only in the UK. If that happened, your non UK fans wouldn't be to happy. Trust me, I can't travel to the UK to by one CD (well, I could but I just don't want to).
2.One more Sleater Kinney Album.
This could happen. Yes, I'm a hardcore SK fan and I know whats going on with them. Corin is about to release an album on October 5th, (here is a free download. You're welcome) and I can't confirm this, but Brownstein and Weiss may have a new band in the coming future. When I heard all of this I was like "Yeah! That's awesome and I can't wait, but where in the heck is the Sleater Kinney?" I started to write an if - then statement and it went like this "If Sleater Kinney is on hiatus and all three of them are still active in music, then we will see a new album from them because they are all still active in music". Science has never failed me, and if it fails me now, then I'm screwed. (Do it for me Sleater Kinney! Pleeseee :)
3. The release of the long awaited My Bloody Valentine Album.
Ok, this is how this story goes. My Bloody Valentine released an album. This album was Loveless and it came out in 1991. This album was so great, it made Creation Records go Bankrupt. Fast forward to 2007, Kevin Shields says that their album is "almost" done and they have been recording since 1997. My Bloody Valentine toured and toured and toured and toured until they were at All Tomorrows parties in 2009. And then what happened? I want to hear more of that crazy, crazy awesomeness in my ears and I want to hear it soon. I don't want to be 30 years old and finally get the new My Bloody Valentine album. That just doesn't feel right.
4. Another Feist album.
Feist is kind of like the My Bloody Valentine thing except she is in another band (Broken Social Scene) and thats good right? I think that the world needs more catchy original songs like "Past in Present" (if I had a dollar for every time that got stuck in my head...). Just a word of advice from me, (if you just magically happen to stumble on my blog) don't listen to Apple. If you just so happen to make that said "catchy" song, don't sell it to Apple. Don't. I don't care if they give you the Apple Ipad 2.3 and a full American citinship. Just don't. Thanks.
5. I play a "real" gig.
Ok, I got the small ones down; friend's basement, friend's backyard, friend's Mom's birthday bash, School Guitar club (Yeah, I owned all of them). When am I going to play something with a legit band (not like the bands that I played with weren't legit) at a really cool dive bar (dream come true...) ? Anyway, I'm sure that it will happen when I'm in college trying to scrape up some money before I go to some far away land as an English teacher. I'll tell you how it goes.
Friday Five later. Have fun with the download. (don't tell them who sent you here. Thanks)
